Stripper weekends!

Two weekends ago my beloved old roomie, Julie, was in town and then just last weekend my best friend from high school, Amber came to visit. We spent a lot of time on the Strip the past couple weekends and I had a BLAST! It has been my goal to visit each casino on or near the Strip at least once and last weekend I was able to cross The New York, New York, The Monte Carlo, The Flamingo, and Harrah's off my list as Amber and I walked the Strip for 9 HOURS! Amber and I even saw the Blue Man Group and now we are total "Bloupies." AND we went to the wax museum and I was loving every second of it.

Then on Sunday me and the roomies hosted a party and head a great turn out. I talked a big game on kissing under our mistletoe but in the end my courage failed me!

Me and the girls in our festive colors.
I can't believe I won something so BIG! I LOVE Circus Circus!

The bloupies.

Candace and Julie at the Bellagio

Me and Julie in front of Planet Hollywood.

Christmas at the Bellagio. Amazing!

Amber tasting 16 flavors of Coke from around the world.

The Bluemen pulled me up on stage (not really, they're wax). Tobias Funke would be SO JEALOUS!

Beverly(from Italy) is SICK NASTY!

Oprah: "Please welcome AMBER PARTRIDGE!!!!!"

Marrying George Clooney!

We look like an unhappy Hollywood couple.

I got a little too into it.
Tickle Tickle, as my nephew Carter would say.

Amy Poehler exits SNL. Sad day!

One of my favorite comedians and SNL cast members of all time recently left Saturday Night Live in order to be able to spend more time raising her new son. If I could mimic anyone's career, it would have been first Tina Fey's and second, Amy Poehler. She is always hilarious and, obviously, has her priorities straight and has a super hot and funny husband--Will Arnett. I'll miss her crazy characters and silly Weekend Update jokes! Fingers crossed that her next project is a success!

I won big in Vegas this weekend!

Because I have charity, this last weekend I attended the Summerlin Women's Club Charity Event for Child Haven at the J.W. Marriot in Summerlin. At the charity event I made a charitable donation of $20 for 6 raffle tickets, which I so charitably entered into the running for some charitably donated prizes. And wouldn't you know it, my good Karma came back to me tenfold, as I won a package for a 1 hr. massage, a free haircut, a $50 gift certificate to a local pub, and a gift basket filled with items from Meleleuca! Look at me beaming with my beautifully wrapped prize below.

Then Saturday evening a friend and I went to Circus Circus to try my luck again. I won a stuffed bug (see below) playing the "shoot the clown heads down" game and then I won a stuffed bear playing the "put the balls in the hole to make the people riding the horses race" game.

Then to top it off, the adorable Paul Rudd hosted SNL and my girl Beyonce performed. I wasn't too impressed with most of the sketches, but the skit below was enough to make watching the whole hour and a half totally worth it! Watch it:

Overall, it was a fantastic weekend!

MAKE SOME NOIIIIIIISSSE!....For A-B-D-C!!!

One of the perks of working at an advertising agency is that radio and TV stations like to give you free tickets to concerts and events as a way to say thank you for purchasing advertising time from them. A couple weekends ago I was able to be the beneficiary of such a freebie as most of the people I work with could have cared less about going to MTV's AMERICA'S BEST DANCE CREW LIVE YA'LL!! OK, so I had actually never watched the show, but I wasn't about to turn down free tickets to such an event!

So Candace and I attended and it was so much fun. We were probably the oldest, whitest people there who weren't parents. It was hilarious! We were totally dancing in our seats and screaming and cheering. And now I have a strange desire to learn that Soulja Boy "Superman" dance. Watch me crank it, watch me rooooolll! Maybe my 16-year-old sister could teach me?....

Break SK8!! They dance on roller skates! ROLLER SKATES!!
Jabberwocky! I am pretty sure I am spelling that wrong. People went nuts over them. Definitely the crowd favorite.

Where's Waldo? All the girls in the background look like they could be my
16-year-old sister Aly.

We're so HOOD!!

We were cool because we didn't have to be dropped off by our parents.

I've been tagged!

I was tagged by my sister Tara to post the fourth picture of the fourth folder in my picture documents.

Ok, sooooo, this is kind of weird but I LOVE Will Arnett who plays Gob Bluth in Arrested Development and this so happens to be my fourth picture, which I downloaded years ago as a half joke, half serious. Cause I really do love him, but this is a ridiculous, funny picture. Interesting fact: He is married to Amy Poehler from SNL and they are about to have their first baby.

Ok, now I tag Shauna and Erika to do the same. If they're reading.

Dates in Las Vegas are the best!

Some of the most fun and unique dates I have ever been on were in Las Vegas, but last weekend takes the cake! I went on a double date with my friend John and he and his friend kept telling me and the other girl that we were going to a show, but that it was a surprise. I'll give you a hint: This comedian's prime was during the Monica Lewinsky scandal and he's never seemed to let it go.....Still don't know? Ok. He's known for his chin. Yep, you got it. JAY LENO!! What a cool surprise! I'm not a HUGE fan of his, but it was fun and funny and cool to see him do stand-up. Below are some pics from the night.

Walking from dinner to the Mirage we stopped at Treasure Island. I have never seen the "Sirens of T.I." show, or as John kept calling it, The Pirate Hooker show, but I've heard it's pretty bad.

Did I close my eyes?!! Yep!

Let's try this again. Half-shut! Dangit!

Third times a charm. Eyes are open!

I wasn't supposed to be taking pictures. This was the best I could get before security started giving me the stink eye.

So long sweet summer...and golden tan

After months of hellishly hot weather that turned into a few weeks of comfortable, perfect lay-out weather, the Vegas summer has completely abandoned me and left in its stead chilly mornings and cool, windy days. The tan that I was so dedicated to gaining and maintaining each Saturday this summer is already beginning to fade. But even though that golden, summer glow may go away, I still have photographic memories to remind me of all the fun in the sun I had this summer. Too many cliches for you? Me too. The best part of my summer was hands-down the MGM Grand Pool. We stayed at the MGM for one night during Memorial Day Weekend but held onto our room key for access to the pool all summer long. What?! Don't judge me!!! Mormon Girls Gone Wild in our room at MGM with my friend Julie's cousin and his friends that came in town that weekend. A very fateful night for Lindsay and her soon to be fiance.

My friends Sarah and Ashley and me at the MGM when they came to visit in August.
John was in town for a day that weekend too. His enthusiastic response to this photo:
"We look like David and Victoria Beckham!!!"

Thanks for the $6 cokes and virgin daiquiri's. Goodbye for now, MGM pool............

Oh! Hello! Welcome to my new personal blog! Well, first of all let me just say "Thanks" to those three of you people who are actually reading it. I'm not sure yet exactly what my blog is going to cover, but I imagine it to be mostly a collection of my random thoughts, re-telling of interesting/funny stories or events and a way for my family back home to know what's going on in my life. So let's get started, shall we? I'd like to introduce you to my roommates, as they will likely be brought up quite a bit in my posts.

These are my roommates, (and best friends in my current home of Las Vegas), minus one who I still need a picture of. My roommates are my favorite part of Vegas and I can't even believe I was lucky enough to find three girls I get along so well with, have loads of fun with, yet can also have great serious conversations with and confide in.
Candace is the brunette. She's from Texas, has a great silly sense of humor, talks a million miles a minute, and doesn't put up with anyone's crap. "She'd be a great mother, your honor. Kid wouldn't get away with sh@$"-- Amy Poehler on Baby Mama

Lindsay is the blonde. She's from Southern California, is one of the weirdest girls I've ever met, but is also one of the most fun. She's the most balanced, insane person I have ever met. You know I mean that in the best possible way, Lindsay.
Shauna (not yet pictured) is from Northern California (Sacramento). She is one of those super cool girls who has a ton of friends that all have cool names and cool jobs and live all over the country. She is totally on top of pop culture and has her own hilarious blog. She works three jobs, and, therefore, is super busy all the time.

We all live in a house in a suburb in Las Vegas. Sometimes I can't even believe I actually LIVE in "Sin City," but it's been a ton of fun and while I am still single I figure I might as well live in a fun city. And it's not as glam and wild as television and movies make it seem. There is actually a surprisingly huge Mormon community here, we go to a singles ward, and our weekend activities are pretty tame.

Again, thanks for checking out my blog (Mom and Tara). Hope you enjoy it!
